Built for developers and testers.

You missed it. Bugback didn't.

Bugback keeps your last few minutes in memory. One shortcut saves the bug, ready for Jira.

Bugback's review window: a clip of a checkout page that shows a total of NaN and a Payment failed message, a trim bar, and the other details of the clip.

How it works.

Records into memory once you start it. Saved only when you say.

Bugback records into a rolling buffer. The oldest seconds are overwritten as new ones arrive.

Hit a bug and press ⇧⌘H. The last minute is frozen, with the steps that led there.

Scrub back to the first frame the bug shows up in, trim it, and send it to Jira. Or just save it.

  1. Nobody is watching.

No accounts, no analytics, no crash reports. Bugback talks to Jira when you connect it and when you send a ticket. If you buy Pro, it also checks your licence key with Polar. It talks to nothing else.

  2. You are in control.

Pause with one click. Record one window instead of the whole screen. Hide any app from clips. Clicks and keys are off until you turn them on.

  3. It stays on your Mac.

The buffer is encrypted in memory with a key that exists only while Bugback runs. Pause or quit and it is gone. Nothing is uploaded unless you send it.

Made for the people who file bugs. And the people who fix them.

Testers

Save the bug the moment you see it. No second attempt at reproducing it, and no typing out what you clicked.

Bugback's review window listing what the person did, step by step with the time of each: Clicked in Lorem Store, Typed a name, Typed a promo code.

Developers

Every ticket arrives with the video, the steps and the Mac it happened on.

Straight into Jira

A new ticket or an existing one. The video is attached for you.

The Send to Jira panel in Bugback: new ticket or existing ticket, project and ticket type.

Questions people ask first.

What if a password is on my screen?

The video is your screen, so a password that is visible when you save is in the clip. Hide your password manager from clips in Settings, or trim the clip before you send it. Keys typed into password fields are never listed in the steps.

Does it record sound?

No. It records the picture only.

Does it slow my Mac down?

It uses the Mac’s hardware video encoder at a capped bitrate. The buffer takes about 30 MB of memory for each minute you keep, and up to five minutes live in memory.

Which trackers does it send to?

Jira Cloud. Send to a new ticket in a project, or attach to one that exists. You can always save a video or a .zip on your Mac instead.

Does anyone see my clips?

No. Clips never pass through a Bugback server. They go from your Mac to your own Jira, and only when you press send.

What about Windows and Linux?

Not yet. Bugback starts on the Mac, Windows is next and Linux comes after that.

Next time, it's already recorded.

Download Bugback for your Mac, and press one shortcut when something breaks.
